Jefferson Ward EQ Spotlight 

BOB BOETTCHER


Bob grew up in Southern California and was raised by his mother.  He is the oldest of 6 siblings.
He later joined the National Guard and the Air Force.  He has spent time in Germany and Korea while on duty.  Bob grew up Lutheran, but later joined the church in 1963 while in the military.  He has lived in our ward since 1971.  He is married to Barbara, has 4 sons and 5 grandchildren.

Here are some other tidbits we got from Bob:

What is something unique about you?    I was one of the first workers at Disneyland when it opened up.  I sold balloons in Fantasy Land.

What is your favorite breakfast food?    Cheerios.

What is your favorite book?    Book of Mormon.

How do you like to spend your leisure time?    Tinkering.  Gunsmith.  Photography.

What are some of your pet peeves?   Potholes, and politicians talking too much.

Who is somebody from history that you look up to and why?  Franklin D. Roosevelt.  He led us through WWII.

Who is your favorite person from church history and why?  David O Mckay.  He was the prophet when I was baptized, and through my early years in the church.

Who do you look forward to hearing from most during General Conference and why?  Elder Uchdorf.  He is from where I was stationed in Germany.  And I like planes.

What do you like most about church?  Handing out candy to kids at church.

What are some of your favorite foods?  Spaghetti.

What are some foods that you hate?  I like all foods.

What is your most favorite holiday and why?  Labor Day.  It coincides with my wife's birthday.
 
What is your most memorable vacation? I went to the re-dedication of the Nauvoo Temple.

What is the scariest thing you have done?  Jumped out of an airplane that was working perfectly fine.

If you had to describe yourself with only three words, what would they be? Child Of God.
